The grand houses of the old quarter of Granada, the Albaicin are called Carmens. These lovely buildings are usually surrounded by beautiful gardens hidden by high walls and have superb views of the Alhambra on the opposite hill. Most carmens are private houses and you cannot enter their gardens to paint them. This carmen, La Media Luna, in the Placeta Nevot though makes a perfect composition from the corner of the square with the lovely building rising above the walls , the tall trees in the garden and the vigorous climbing plants over the entrance.
The medium is watercolour
