Years ago, when I lived in Cornwall, I collected some smooth, round pebbles from a beach and transformed them into painted cats. These proved very popular but could not command much of a price, and the time and effort put in to find and collect the stones hardly made them viable. Nevertheless, I enjoyed painting them as I have always been fond of cats. We have three at the moment.
My new home has a river running below the house and I have discovered that along the banks are smooth, rounded pebbles ideal for this hobby and so I have begun painting them again while I wait for the weather to improve. When it does, I hope to begin work on some new landscapes.
